Position by position analysis...QB

I would like to start out by saying welcome to my blog. I will be updating as much as possible and giving my take on the Texans and Rockets . This first blog, I am going to do a Position analysis for the QB Position. Lets get it started.

QB Matt Shaub: Coming off of a Career high year in almost every statistical category across the board. First, health is always a concern and i don't want to harp on it too much but it is always in the back of my mind. Coming off a 4,770 yard year, he has raised the expectations to another level. He will be going into his 8th season and expectations are gonna be great! Schaub is a leader on and off the field regularly getting to gther with his offensive line and having dinner. He is in command of the huddle and the team has started to respond to him being the leader last year, or everyone has started to "buy-in." Schaub had 29 TD, in which for me left alot to be desired considering how great of an offense the Texans had. I expect another great year from Shaub passing for 4,700 yards but i want to see the touchdown up to about 35. If Shaub can get the extra effort from the receiving corp. this should be no problem.

QB Dan Orlovsky: With the departure of Rex Grossman, Orlovsky moves into the backup role for Shaub. With the dismal Detroit Lions season over 2 season ago, let's hope he is mentaly prepared to step in and win games. While the kid has all the tools to be a sucessful NFL quarterback some have said he doesnt have the mindset of one. We all know of If he comes in the game thats when we get on our knees and say a quick prayer for our team. Hopefully in never comes to that!

The Texans, I believe will only carry 2 quarterbacks with Owen Daniels being the emergency. I would almost want him to be 2nd string. For now, Shaub is healthy and hope fully remains that way!

Next Up: Wide Recievers...Running Backs....Offensive Line.

Til next time.....
